Indian Summer Trophy Races Report

BC Racecars entered two Trans-Am TA2 cars in the GT Sprints category for the BEMC organized September weekend. Beautiful, crisp Canadian weather marked a great weekend where many personal best were achieved as track conditions were near ideal.

Blaise Csida, driving the #120 TA2 Camaro set a personal best in qualifying , a 1:19.524, the first time that a TA2 based stock car went sub-20 at Mosport (to the best of our knowledge). Of course the car is not a fully legal trim, with the restrictor out (which adds about 40 HP) and 80 lbs of lead removed. The car is otherwise as raced in TA2. With Jim Beaton’s Grand Am Corvette suffering some damage from Friday’s testing, the #120 took all 3 wins for the weekend.

Mark Busscher, driving the #184 TA2 Camaro also had a great weekend, achieving a personal best of 1:23.387! No major troubles and some great racing resulted in a 2nd, 3rd and another 2nd for the final trophy race.

Many thanks to our great crew, both cars were immaculately prepared and set-up for all sessions, without any issues what so ever, allowing us to concentrate on changes and tire pressures which proved crucial with the cold temperatures.

Watch quali lap from Blaise, including a big mistake in T5 (cost about 0.3 seconds):
