SCCA Trans-Am organized their inaugural private 2-day test at Sebring, and BC Race Cars Inc. was happy to support the event. As usual, 2 perfect days of weather, one hot and more humid and one cooler for optimizing various set-ups.
Our #10 BCR Mustang had some brake issues which unfortunately robbed a few hours from our test day. We had all the spares to repair the problem and driver Misha was quick out of the gate. We worked on the car all day to evaluate a new front end, but frankly, ran out of time to truly make a determination of its benefit. Misha had to leave to get back to Daytona in preparation for the 24 hour race with IMSA.
New driver to our team, Barry Boes, took advantage of the great track time. It was invaluable to get to know Barry, final fit him to the BCR/Acciodata TA2 Chev Camaro and work out the little kinks. Once he learnt this car, we started to work towards getting the set-up to his liking. After numerous changes, Barry got down to a 2:06.8, over 2 seconds faster than he has ever gone in a TA2 car and almost 4 seconds faster than at last year’s race! Needless to say, driver and crew were elated!
