DOUBLE PODIUM FOR BCR AT TROPHY RACE

As usual, the BEMC Late Summer Trophy races at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park bring ideal weather and record lap times. This year was no different.

James McLean, still learning his new ride for the year made leaps and bounds, consistently running in the 23’s all weekend. The results do not show how good the driver/car combination was, as the races were very short, just a few laps with all the yellows and reds. Awarded a gift certificate from 6th Gear.

Leroy Micallef, in his 3^rd weekend with the # 20 TA2 BCR Mustang, swept the first 2 races, but in the finale, he could not hold off a much, much faster car and finished 2^nd.  He also achieved his best ever lap time in this car, with more to go. Can’t wait to see him in the seat for the final race weekend in October.

Zac Mahoney, our main guy at BC Race Cars, was piloting our #141 Grand Prix Rental this weekend. After a terrible crash the race weekend before, Zac worked tirelessly to repair, and maybe improve the car. Never having driven Mosport, he was incredibly quick right out of the gate. In qualifying, he put together a great lap, a new record for this car, qualifying 2^nd with a 1:21.6. His race craft was equally impressive, finishing top 3 in all 3 races and a well-deserved podium! Great job Zac, hopefully your experience will encourage other racers to try this wonderfully sorted race car!
