Top 13 for BCR at Calabogie with NASCAR Canada!

For the second road course event of the NASCAR Canada season, BC Race Cars entered our #24 Thomas Cavanagh Construction / Cathcart Trucking Ford Mustang, with Jeff Cavanagh behind the wheel.

What a weekend! Tons of loyal fans, incredible support, and excellent organization from Calabogie Motorsports Park and NASCAR Canada.

A local to the region, Jeff has plenty of experience at Calabogie, although not necessarily on the NASCAR track configuration—and certainly not in these cars or on the new-for-2026 McCreary tires.

We were fortunate to have a great test day on Friday, completing more than a full race distance of laps. Saturday brought mixed conditions, but we took every opportunity to get more laps under our belts, completing almost another race distance and watching Jeff grow more comfortable with each session.

Unfortunately, qualifying was cancelled due to weather, meaning we had to start the race 24th based on owner points.

Our race plan was simple: stay out of trouble and push hard toward the end, knowing our car and driver were strong on long runs. Unfortunately, we were punted early in the race and had to work our way forward from the back once again.

Jeff drove an awesome race, picking off competitors one by one while protecting the car. He set his fastest lap on Lap 38 and brought the #24 home with an incredible 13th-place finish in an extremely competitive field!

A huge thank you to our crew. The car ran for more than four hours without a single issue—a true testament to their thorough preparation and hard work.
