While not everybody enjoys the race track at NOLA, we found it a great place to test and improve our car. As part of the SCCA Pro Trans-Am series, we again had our #20 BCR/Greenlight Simulation Mustang entered with Josh Hurley at the wheel.
The improvements we installed for this weekend seemed to help as we were P2 by the second test session. We knew it wasn’t going to hold as we still have many upgrades to engineer into our car, and we qualified 8th. While disappointing on paper, the top ten were separated by 0.9 seconds!
Josh did his usual miracle starts and was running in 5th place for the first quarter of the race, comfortably keeping pace with the lead pack. Then we started to develop a weird engine issue that would intermittently feel like the rev limiter was engaged. It was getting worse and worse, but Josh managed to find a way to drive around the problem, finishing a very solid 6th place. Thanks Josh, well done!
See if we can accomplish getting more upgrades installed for the next event in St. Louis!
