BC Race Cars entered two cars for the St. Louis race weekend at World Wide Technology raceway, part of the SCCA Trans-Am National Pro series.
Returning for this race was Grant Palmer, piloting the # 10 BCR Mustang, with new sponsorship from Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and Slot Car Corner. He did not disappoint in only his second time in a TA2 car.
Testing went great, but since timing and scoring was down, we did not get a true sense of where our pace was relative to the others. In practice, both our cars proved fast, Josh in 2nd,and Grant in 6th. Just to explain the development of these cars, Grant was over a second faster than last year, but unfortunately so was the competition!
Qualifying could have gone better, we felt that there was a little more on the table, especially how tight the top ten cars were. Regardless, Josh ended up 3rd and Grant 9th, 0.115 and 0.900 off the pole.
Right before our race, the track got oiled down, and lost some of its grip. Grant struggled greatly to hang on and did an awesome job finishing 9th. A huge achievement in light of the great teams and drivers he finished ahead of.
Josh Hurley, in the Greenlight Simulation #20 BCR Mustang , was simply amazing again this weekend. He has never driven at WWTR, yet got up to speed quickly and asked for all the right changes. In combination with our expretise and coach Quinlan Lall, the car was the best its been all season. His race was awesome, first with Crews and than with championship leader Thomas Merril. Finishing on the podium, in only his 4th TA2 race is a giant accomplishment for him as a driver and for us as a team. Special thanks goes to Zac and his awesome crew; Martin, Norm and Scott. Well done boys!
Second seat available for the upcoming events at Lime Rock Park and Pittsburgh International Race Complex.
