BC Race Cars had never been to NOLA, until this year! We were looking forward to the challenge of a new track, and experiencing the local culture of New Orleans!
Before we could get there, many logistical challenges had to be overcome. With the help Mike Cope Racing and Tony Ave Motorsports, we found a place for our tractor/trailer in between the Sebring and Atlanta events. Thanks guys!
Barry Boes, piloting our #32 Camaro was quickly on pace. The information we got from other teams combined with our own engineering resulted in a very good car out of the box. We made a small gear change after the first practise, and just kept tuning all weekend.
Barry did great; we were in the top 20 thru the first few days of running, with a high of 12th in official practice. Qualifying did not go our way, ending up 19th.
We had high hopes for the race as our car was really good on the long run with worn tires, but an unfortunate fuel delivery issue forced our retirement. We stayed after the race to repair the problem, but the damage was done.
Overall a very neat and challenging race track and a fabulous experience. We hope we go back there again with the series.
