After a long, but enjoyable TA2 season, BC Race Cars was looking to finish the season off strong, with our usual two cars entered. We showed so much speed this year, but seldom “closed the deal” with only one podium finish to our credit.
We did not pay much attention to the test sessions and practise as with 46 cars, the chances of getting a clean lap were slim, and instead we worked to improve the cars and drivers. Qualifying was a mixed bag, Misha Goikhberg in the #10 BCR Mustang did 2 laps with some traffic, but still ended up 10th. Barry Boes in the #32 Accio Data Camaro was less fortunate with being impeded, but managed a 19th position.
The race was very exciting to watch, with both cars steadily making positions. Barry was taken out roughly half way thru the race with a senseless passing attempt; very frustrating and aggravating as the series is unable to police on track behaviour.
Misha was up to fifth, just saving his car when he was also the victim of another mindless wreck between the leaders. Again, a missed opportunity of not finishing a race and nothing to show for all the good work both by the mechanics/engineer and driver/driver coach.
A big thanks to our crew, they worked hard all year and we only had one mechanical DNF thru the entire season. Thank you.
