After a scary crash at Watkins Glen, the crew at BC Race Cars spent many hours carefully re-constructing our flagship #20 TA2 Camaro. The damage was extensive, but easily repairable.
Before heading to COTA for the season finale for Trans-Am TA2 we needed to shake down the race car, make sure we didn’t miss anything. The folks at DriveTeq graciously allowed us to enter their lapping day at CTMP, where we put over an hour of quality track time on the car, verifying each system.
Rick and Gerry of DriveTeq threw in a bonus, allowing a 3 lap qualifying run towards the end of the day. With stickers but very cold temperatures, we weren’t sure how it would work out, but driver Misha Goikhberg was up to the challenge, stringing together 3 sub-20 lap times, the best being 1:19.6.
To our knowledge, this is the fastest a LEGAL TA2 car has ever gone at CTMP, which means the engine restrictor in place and series legal weight, ride height and tires!
Well done to Misha and the BCR crew, and again many thanks to the folks at DriveTeq! Watch the lap:
