As always, beautiful weather and ideal track conditions marked round #3 of the Ontario Pirelli GT Sprints championship at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. The field was massive, and great racing thru the entire field marked the event.
Also as usual, many competitors achieved their personal bests of the season, including our cars. Mark Busscher, driving his TA2 Camaro established a personal best of 1:22.4 and finished 3rd, 3rd and 4th in the 3 races.
Outstanding drive from Leroy Micallef elevated our #82 ASA stock car into the top 5 as well. Having re-engineered the suspension (after we blew the shocks off the car at Calabogie), the car came alive under Leroy’s expert inputs, achieving a best of 1:22.0, and incredible lap time for an inexpensive and old race car!
Unfortunately, we had many issues with Rob Martin’s car. Not unusual after a big crash repair that residual problems pop up. The crew was on top of it, and Rob finished a respectable 10th, making up 18 positions after starting from the back!
In only 2 weeks, the finale is scheduled to take place. We are flat out trying to repair our cars in time! See you there.
