BCR Year In Review –Trans-Am

Our first full time effort, with two cars, in the SCCA Pro-Trans-Am series, TA2 class, did not go well, certainly not what we anticipated or dreamed.

In fact, it was a miserable year. A combination of bad luck, huge parts shortages, lack of tires for testing, drivers and team errors, crashes, and some questionable officiating made for a year to forget. On the upside, our cars were fast, always in contention and reliable, we have learnt from our mistakes.

Highlight of the season was the last race at COTA, running three cars with three pro drivers, what a dream come thru! Misha in the #10, new-comer Josh Sarchet in the #20, and Tony Ave in our #30 Mustang. At one point, all three cars were running in the top 10 out of 52 entires, till a brake failure on the #30 forced Tony’s retirement.

Josh finished 7th, what an amazing achievement for someone who has never driven a full size car (a taxi cab as we affectionately call them). Misha was in contention for a podium finish, but a contact knocked off the right front brake duct, and with overheating brakes he ended up 8th.

We are re-grouping and rebuilding our cars. We already have two confirmed drivers for next year, look for future announcements. In the meantime, some really cool laps from Josh’s on board at COTA:
