We are super excited to have Tony Ave back driving for BC Race Cars for the season finale of the Trans-Am by Pirelli’s TA2 class at COTA, Austin TX.
BC Race Cars #30 TA2 Mustang , the sister car to Misha Goikhberg’s #10 & #20 cars, have tested equally. It has demonstrated exceptional reliability with Michele Abbate at the wheel, completing approximately 50 sessions thru 11 race weekends. The car made all sessions, except one (which was traced to debris falling into the dry sump tank). The #30 TA2 Mustang became available for COTA, and a deal was reached for Tony to take over the seat in this final round.
Ave requires no introduction; a professional driver with an incredible resume and history with BCR. He achieved podium finishes 3 times with our cars, and outright won the final race at the Detroit Grand Prix June 2019. We hope to see the same battle between Tony & Misha again.
“I so look forward to working with Tony. We have been close friends for many years, and his feedback on set-up and development will prove very valuable for the team.” states Blaise. Of course, he hasn’t driven a TA2 car in a long time, and the last-minute nature of this deal prevented us from a proper test. We have full confidence in his ability and ours to develop a competitive package!
