Mid-Ohio and Road America Report, Trans-Am TA2

With the two weekends so close together, we barely had enough time to turn the car around, so we are combining the report for the two weekends.

Mid-Ohio was a difficult weekend for BC Racecars; we had installed the new, updated engine to stay competitive with zero testing time, which bit us hard. Our first and only track session on Friday was in the wet, and revealed nothing. Saturday was official practise and qualifying, and we suffered an engine power issue, which we could not find till after qualifying. We opted to start the race from the back on new stickers.

Passing is not easy at this track, and by the time Barry passed the back-markers, we ourselves were going a lap down to the leaders. A late yellow assured and re-alignment of the field meant we were the first car a lap down and lapped around to the end to finish 13th. Not bad, but not where we wanted to be.

We were quick out of the box at Road America, hovering around the 10th place in both practise sessions, even on used tires. Barry was driving well, car was fast, but qualifying did not go our way with an oiled down track and we ended up 18th of 40.

Barry quickly made up spots at the start of the race, but a couple of forced errors put us towards the back. He fought back to 10th, a great finish and a pretty awesome drive from Barry.

See a lap on this freshly repaved, wonderful circuit;
