Redemption for BCR at the Glen!

Watkins Glen International Raceway was the venue for round 9 of the SCCA Trans-Am series, and BCR entered 2 TA2 cars as well as our #15 house TA car.
Constantly watching the weather, and struggling with delays and a less than ideal schedule, we did not get sufficient practise time to get the drivers/cars up to their full potential.
Steve Burns in our house #25 Green machine quickly learnt the track (never having driven there) and qualified 13th in very tricky conditions. A broken input shaft ruined an otherwise great showing, breaking 8 laps from the end of the race.

Harry Steenbakkers was quick as usual. Qualifying happened on a full wet track but no rain. A last minute set up change and Harry’s quick hands and driving talent gave BCR our first 2nd place qualifying position of the season! Unfortunately, the lack of practise showed in the race, we missed the set-up ever so slightly, and Harry struggled to hold on to 6th place, a great finish regardless! Congrats to Harry and the crew.

Blaise Csida had a total of 4 laps in the car prior to qualifying but still secured a 9th place starting position. The race was eventful with great racing, red flags, caution periods and lots of incidents. Blaise was getting faster every lap and finally passed Simon Gregg for a season best finish of 5th.
