BC Race Cars had two cars entered for the season finale at Circuit of the Americas, the #20 of Josh Hurley, and a return drive for Misha Goikhberg in the familiar #10.
Josh was fast all thru testing and practise, always in the top 6. We tried to improve the car further and were able to flip it with minor set up changes. Josh qualified 6th, only 2 tenths off pole.
Race day threw a surprise as the forecast was calling for sunny and hot, instead of the cloud cover and heavy wind which cooled the track. We missed on our set up, and both cars developed a substantial amount of push. Despite our handling issues, Josh was able to fight and the racing was awesome, always in the top ten, swapping places. An unusual brake failure ended our day prematurely in the final laps, another event where the results do not reflect how fast we were.
Misha struggled during testing and practise, we could not get the car to his liking. Interesting how two great drivers want their cars so differently set-up. We made improvements, but only qualified 22nd of the 43 cars entered.
We were able to give him a much better car for the race, and Misha drove great to come up thru the field. An unfortunate incident knocked the rear toe out and he struggled afterwards to make more progress. Still, he brought the car home in 14th, a fabulous come-back drive.
A massive thank you to our amazing crew mates of Zac, Martin, Scott, and Darryl. They work their butts off to make sure our cars are reliable and fast. Many thanks guys!
We have 2 great cars available for the 2025 season, please contact Blaise for details.
